Lyle’s journey to the lead role is nothing short of extraordinary. Originally auditioning for the ensemble, his raw talent captivated the casting team, leading to what he describes as a “dream-come-true” musical theatre debut. Hailing from Gladstone, Lyle is a recent graduate of Classical Voice at the Queensland Conservatorium and currently serves as an Emerging Artist in Residence with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Handing the mask to such a young, fresh talent signals an exciting direction for this production, promising a Phantom fuelled by raw intensity and vocal prowess.
The Christine Daaé of a Generation
Returning to the stage to play the object of the Phantom’s obsession is the celebrated Australian soprano, Amy Manford.
Manford is no stranger to the role of Christine Daaé; she has earned global acclaim for her portrayal, having performed the role both on London’s prestigious West End and during the last Australian in-theatre tour. A Rising Star as Raoul
Completing the central love triangle is rising Australian musical theatre star Jarrod Draper, who makes his debut in the role of Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny.
Draper has been steadily building an impressive resume in the Australian theatre scene, with credits in some of the country’s biggest recent hits, including Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Rent, and Cats. His casting as the dashing Raoul brings a dynamic energy to the production, ensuring the romantic tension at the heart of the story is palpable.
