Summer in Sydney is synonymous with sparkle, celebration, and the undeniable energy of Mardi Gras. As the calendar turns to February, anticipation builds for one of the festival’s most cherished traditions. On Sunday, 15 February 2026, Victoria Park will once again transform into a vibrant kaleidoscope of colour and connection for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Fair Day.
This isn’t just a picnic; it is the festival’s largest free, all-ages event, and this year, it promises to be more electric than ever. Under the evocative theme of ECSTATICA, Fair Day is set to deliver pure daytime euphoria, bringing together music, performance, and community in a celebration of queer joy.
Whether you are a Fair Day veteran or a first-time visitor, 2026 offers a programme packed with international icons, local legends, and cultural experiences that define the spirit of Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ community.
The Rhythm of ECSTATICA: A World-Class Line-Up
Music is the heartbeat of Fair Day, and the 2026 line-up has been curated to keep the energy high from the first rays of morning light through to the golden hour.
A House Music Icon Takes the Stage
Leading the charge is a name synonymous with 90s dancefloor anthems. Janice Robinson, the international house music icon and voice of Livin’ Joy, will be making her Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras debut. Flying in from Miami, Robinson is set to deliver an exclusive performance that promises to be a highlight of the festival.
Her voice defined an era of club culture, and crowds can expect to hear the tracks that are woven deep into the fabric of queer history. From the soaring vocals of “Dreamer” to the infectious rhythm of “Don’t Stop Moving” and “There Must Be Love” (featuring David Morales), her set will be a masterclass in sun-soaked nostalgia and collective joy.
“I am super excited to be coming to Australia to perform for Mardi Gras,” Robinson says of her upcoming appearance. “I am a dreamer who continues to live her dreams, and Australia is a country I love deeply. This moment means more to me than words can express.”
Pop Royalty and Drag Superstars
Joining Robinson is a stellar cast of performers representing the diversity of the modern music scene. Blusher, hailed as one of Australia’s most exciting pop acts, arrives at Victoria Park with significant momentum. Fresh from supporting Rebecca Black and performing at the Laneway Festival, this Victorian trio is ready to captivate the Fair Day crowd.
Adding to the pop prowess is the genre-blurring artist Go-Jo, known for bold, feel-good energy that perfectly matches the ECSTATICA theme. And, of course, no Mardi Gras event would be complete without the unmistakable star power of Courtney Act. The drag icon brings her signature flair and wit, ensuring the Main Stage sparkles just a little brighter.
Dance, Country, and Euro-Beats
The musical diversity continues throughout the day. Dance music icon Zoe Badwi will serve up classic house vocals, while DJ James Alexandr teams up with Nada Leigh for a club-ready set designed to get bodies moving.
For those who prefer their beats with a side of boot-scooting, Kath Ebbs will be bringing queer country tunes for a raucous round of line dancing. Meanwhile, IVANA will electrify the Main Stage with her debut live show, belting out Euro-dance hits like “Liar Liar”, “Need Your Love”, and “Burning”.
Beyond the Main Stage, the entertainment flows across various activations. International talents like Mila Jam (Los Angeles) and Arisce (New York City) will perform alongside local stars including Felicia Foxx, Aunty Tamara, Atomic Kiss, Jackel Doll, Tiddalicious, and DJ Nate.
Culture and Community Across the Park
While the music sets the tempo, the soul of Fair Day lies in its community zones. Victoria Park becomes a playground of culture, creativity, and connection, offering something for everyone.
Honouring Country
The festivities begin with respect and grounding at the First Nations Circle. A Smoking Ceremony and performances by the Buuja Buuja Butterfly Dancers will open the day, honouring Country and acknowledging the deep connection between the land and the community. It is a powerful reminder of the festival’s roots and the importance of First Nations visibility.
Fan Favourites Return
The events that have made Fair Day legendary are back in full force:
- Doggywood: Perhaps the most photographed event of the day, this canine pageant sees the community’s most adorable dogs strut their stuff. Expect costumes, tricks, and plenty of “oohs” and “aahs”.
- Trans Camp: Returning for its second year, this proudly trans-run zone offers a dedicated space for the trans and gender-diverse community to connect and celebrate.
- Karaoke Cave: Hosted by Vybe, the ‘Disco and Divas’ karaoke session promises unapologetic sing-along chaos. It is the perfect spot to belt out your favourite ballad without judgement.
- Drag King Games: Prepare for a mix of muscle, mischief, and mayhem as the Drag King Games return to challenge competitors and entertain the crowds.
The Queer Fashion Runway
Fashion has always been central to Mardi Gras identity, and the Queer Fashion Runway is the place to see it in motion. This fast, fabulous 50-minute show showcases works from 10 local designers. It is a celebration of creativity and style that pushes boundaries. (Note for aspiring designers: Expressions of Interest are open until Friday, 30 January 2026).
Eat, Drink, and Gather
Beyond the stages and spectacles, Fair Day is about the simple joy of gathering with friends, family, and chosen family.
More than 200 community stalls will fill the park, offering everything from handmade crafts to information on local community groups. It is a chance to support queer businesses and organisations while soaking up the atmosphere.
When hunger strikes, a vast array of food trucks will be serving up delicious bites, alongside pop-up bars for refreshing drinks. The sprawling green lawns of Victoria Park provide the perfect setting for a massive community picnic. It is a day for wandering, grazing, and enjoying the company of thousands of like-minded people.

With so much happening, a little planning goes a long way. Festival-goers are encouraged to download the Mardi Gras App (available free on the App Store and Google Play).
