Situated on Main Street in a heritage-listed building, the new flagship venue combines bold flavours, vibrant interiors, and sweeping bayside views, offering the ultimate spot for summer sunsets and sunshine sipping.
Welcome, La Cabra.

The founders
For co-founders Sherinder Kohli, Derrick Chandra, and Joshua Smith, the opening of this flagship venue is a heartfelt return to their roots. Born and raised in Mordialloc, the trio’s latest venture is not just another restaurant on the map—it’s a celebration of the community where La Cabra first came to life.
“We’ve always dreamed of bringing La Cabra to Mordialloc,” shares Kohli. “Not only does this venue showcase the best of what we do, but it also gives us the chance to share our love for Mexican food in a place where the idea for La Cabra started and shaped who we are today,” adds Smith.
A top-notch venue
Stepping inside, La Cabra Mordialloc brims with personality, staying true to the brand’s playful style. The ground-floor restaurant is alive with colourful murals, cheeky neon lights, and an open kitchen that puts diners in the heart of the action. Outside, the courtyard oasis offers space for 40 guests, complete with hanging planters, ‘Day of the Dead’ themed skulls, and a retractable roof and heaters that cater for Melbourne’s unpredictable weather.
For private functions, the second floor features an 80-capacity room flooded with natural light thanks to a stunning skylight. Whether it’s an end-of-year party, summer celebration, or something in between, this space ticks all the boxes with style.
Then there’s the star of the show—the rooftop. With plush lounge seating, sprawling coastal views, and a central mosaic-tiled bar, this spot is primed for sunset sessions, serving tacos and snacks alongside refreshing margaritas. It’s safe to say, there’s no better seat in town.
