The internationally acclaimed play AFTERGLOW by S. Asher Gelman is set to make its highly anticipated Australian debut, bringing its raw, funny, and sensual exploration of modern love to Melbourne and Sydney audiences.
The production will premiere at Melbourne’s Chapel off Chapel from 30 January 2026, before heading to the Eternity Playhouse in Sydney from 26 February.
A Stellar Cast and a Story of Modern Love
The Australian production boasts a stellar cast of three, including Julian Curtis (Gaslight, Cock, Dance Academy), Olympic gold medal-winning diver Matthew Mitcham (Strangers in Between, Jock Night, The Pool), and Matthew Predny (Titanique, Avenue Q, Kinky Boots). Together, they bring to life a story that delves into the complexities of polyamory, commitment, and trust.
AFTERGLOW follows Josh and Alex, a married couple in an open relationship, who invite Darius to share their bed for a single night. What begins as a fleeting encounter evolves into a deep and intimate connection, challenging the trio’s individual definitions of love, loyalty, and the boundaries of their relationships. The play’s exploration of desire and connection is both passionate and poignant, offering a modern lens on the intricacies of human relationships.

Writer and director S. Asher Gelman shared his excitement about bringing AFTERGLOW to Australian audiences.
