Can’t stop laughing? Neither can we! Due to overwhelming demand, the smash-hit production of The Producers is back for an exclusive, strictly limited run at Riverside Theatres from 13 – 16 May.
If you missed its Hayes season, here’s your second chance to experience the hilarious chaos, sharp wit, and outrageously catchy tunes of this Mel Brooks masterpiece. But don’t wait too long – these tickets are bound to disappear faster than a PSL on the first day of autumn.
Starring Anton Berezin (Evita, The Phantom of the Opera) as scheming Broadway producer Max Bialystock and Des Flanagan (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) as his meek accountant-turned-conspiring sidekick Leo Bloom, this high-energy production takes theatre-goers on a wild ride of outrageous mischief and unexpected mayhem. Joining them is newcomer Alexandra Cashmere, who sizzles as the dazzling Ulla.
The chaos doesn’t stop there, thanks to a stellar supporting cast. Blake Erickson (Tina The Tina Turner Musical) dazzles as the flamboyantly fabulous Roger De Bris, while Jordan Shea hilariously commands the stage as the quirky Franz Liebkind. Mikey Sakinofsky (The Tempest) adds flair in their Hayes debut as Carmen Ghia, and Wendy-Lee Purdy, fresh from Hello Dolly! at London’s Palladium, will have your sides splitting as Hold-Me-Touch-Me.
Directed by Julia Robertson (Metropolis), choreographed by the dynamic Shannon Burns (Ride the Cyclone), and with newcomer Osibi Akerejola leading the musical charge, this production is packed with talent both on stage and behind the scenes.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the acclaimed production of The Producers to a main stage season at Riverside, in partnership with Joshua Robson Productions, direct from the sold-out season at the Hayes Theatre,” says Craig McMaster, Director of Riverside Theatres. “This Tony Award-winning masterpiece by Mel Brooks has captivated audiences worldwide with its sharp wit, outrageous humour, and unforgettable musical numbers. It’s a privilege to present this iconic show at Riverside, showcasing the exceptional talent behind this production to an even wider audience.”
The uproarious plot follows Bialystock and Bloom as they attempt the most outlandish con in Broadway history – producing an absolute flop to swindle investors. Their “brilliant” plan backfires spectacularly when the show becomes a smash hit instead! High-energy numbers like “I Wanna Be a Producer”, “Keep it Gay”, and “Springtime for Hitler” give the production its signature comedic edge and dazzling charm.
Having won a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards, The Producers promises side-splitting laughs, unforgettable characters, and a theatrical experience that’s simply not to be missed.
Tickets are on sale now at www.riversideparramatta.com.au. Run, don’t walk, because this limited season will be over before you can say “Springtime for Hitler”! Grab your seats and get ready for an evening of spectacular fun.
