If ever there was someone who knew how to make cakes, it’s Reynold Poernomo and co.: the guys behind Sydney’s KOI Dessert Bar. In partnership with the annual Movember movement to raise money for men’s heath in Australia, KOI Dessert Bar will this weekend be hosting a decadent ‘Guy Tea‘. Arnold and Ronald have created a decadent menu with a mixture of sweet & savoury canapes including; Salmon Roe Tart with Brown Butter Potato, Smoked Bacon and Yol Jam ‘Cigar’, Milk Chocolate & Whisky Macaron and guests will be treated to a special cocktail upon arrival crafted by cocktail making sensation Wen Wang (Australia’s Best Bartender Top 100). Working with family is no easy feat, and add the complex nature of the fast paced hospitality industry, the boys have had their fair share of challenges, inevitably affecting their mental wellbeing. In a bid to bring people together through their shared love of food, the Guy Tea aims to help mates from all walks of life feel connected and comfortable to ‘at the table’ chat about how they’re feeling. QT Sydney’s Barber Shop will be raising funds for the Movember Foundation thanks to the handy-work of its expertly trained barbers and it all starts on October 31. Get a razor sharp, immaculate shave complete with uplifting essential oils and a face massage to make even the most debonair skin mo-growing ready and $10 from every do will go to Movember. No mo? No worries. You can still be part of the faux facial action by just making a donation. Why not? This exhibition promises an unprecedented reunion of paintings by some of the most celebrated Italian artists of the 14th century, artworks that have been scattered across the globe for centuries. Highlighting this unique collection are masterpieces in gold ground, many originally part of larger compositions, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the innovative spirit of Western painting tradition from this era. The spotlight of the exhibition is the coming together of several panels from the revolutionary double-sided altarpiece, the Maestà, painted by Duccio di Buoninsegna for the cathedral in Siena.
