Chiswick Sydney has a new chef – here’s why you should book

Big changes are cooking at Chiswick Woollahra! Samuel Rozsnyoi has stepped into the role of head chef, and with him comes a bold new autumn menu that celebrates seasonal produce and a fresh, approachable dining style.

Rozsnyoi, a name that will soon be as synonymous with Chiswick as its iconic slow-roasted lamb, brings an impressive background to the table. Having honed his skills in top kitchens across Sydney, Europe, and Paris, and with experience working under culinary stars like Pasi Petanen and Josh Niland, he’s prepared to take Chiswick to exciting new places. Raised in Gladesville, Rozsnyoi discovered his love for cooking alongside his mum in the family kitchen. That passion drives his mission to get the most out of Chiswick’s abundant kitchen garden, with hyper-seasonal menus that pair freshness with creativity.

What’s New on the Menu?

Rozsnyoi’s autumn menu adds flair while staying true to Chiswick’s roots. Think Chiswick classics like beer-battered fish with chips and labneh tartare, nestled alongside new dishes refined to perfection. Highlights include wood-roasted chook, baked lumache with mushroom and mozzarella, and a grill menu showcasing premium produce from farms such as Ramarro and Chiswick co-owner Matt Moran’s Moran Family Farm. And don’t forget dessert! The bay leaf custard tart and salted caramel semifreddo are absolute showstoppers.

But the menu isn’t the only refresh. The bar area has been reimagined to welcome everyone – whether you’re after a quick bite or a relaxed drink with friends. Bar snacks are now a vibe of their own, with dishes like wood-roasted prawns with curry butter and pomelo and a smoky house-stracciatella served with caponata and endive. The best part? The full dining menu is available here too, for those deli-inspired moments over a beer or cocktail.

Rounding it all up, Rozsnyoi says it best himself, “This is a chance to reinterpret all the kitchens that shaped me.” He’s confident in creating a place where great food, fresh produce, and good times come together in true Chiswick style.

Autumn is here, so there’s never been a better time to rediscover a favourite with a delicious new twist. Grab a plate or a pint at Chiswick Woollahra today!
