A legendary team with a visionary approach
AURA’s transformation is spearheaded by an all-star team of seasoned nightlife and entertainment pioneers, bringing decades of experience to the table:
- Dave Auld – A 36-year industry veteran behind SEADECK Sydney and OASIS Brisbane.
- Riccardo Monfardini – Founder of Movement Agency and Movement Oz.
- Bryan Ro – Creator of Puzzles Records, MyPresskit.info, and Tapstar.id.
- Justin Muscat – Founder of ALLFRIENDS and RAW.
Together, this powerhouse group is breathing new energy into the historic venue. “ARQ has always been an extraordinary space, lasting the test of time for 26 years,” says Dave Auld. “We have great respect for its incredible run, but every icon needs to evolve. With AURA, we’re preserving the heritage while redefining what a modern nightclub can be.”
Honouring ARQ’s legacy
ARQ has been a pillar of Sydney’s queer nightlife for over two decades, fostering community, creativity, and connection. AURA’s new management team is committed to respecting that legacy by retaining the existing ARQ team, ensuring continuity and maintaining close relationships with loyal patrons and promoters.
“We’re not starting over; we’re building on the legacy of loyalty, passion, and culture, evolving it for a new generation,” explains Auld, echoing their dedication to the community that made ARQ so special.

Thursdays – Carnivàle
