Opera Australia is set to dazzle audiences once again with its annual New Year’s Eve Opera Gala, a glittering event that promises to be the highlight of Sydney’s cultural calendar.
Taking place in the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on 31 December 2025, this year’s gala boasts a stellar line-up of talent, hosted by the charismatic Australian actor and singer, Jonathan Biggins.

Plummer will also grace the stage later this summer in the trouser role of Hansel in Opera Australia’s production of Hansel & Gretel. These three leading ladies will be joined by tenor Diego Torre, celebrated for his powerful portrayal of Don José in Carmen, and baritone Simon Meadows, who delighted audiences as Figaro in The Barber of Seville.
