Hold onto your glitter, folks, because Fair Day is back to kick off the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2025 in the most spectacular fashion!
Victoria Park will be shining brighter than a disco ball on Sunday, 16 February, from 10am to 9pm, as over 70,000 people come together to celebrate at this free community event. Yes, that’s right—FREE. You could spend your hard-earned cash on glitter, cocktails, or maybe a bedazzled leash for your pup’s debut at this year’s Doggywood pageant (we can’t all be human pageant queens, okay?).
Speaking of fabulous features, Fair Day 2025 promises something for everyone, and by “everyone,” we mean literally everyone. Kick things off with a vibrant visit to the First Nations Circle, admire fresh talent (and representation!) at newcomer Trans Camp, or belt your heart out at the delightfully chaotic Karaoke Cave: Dolly Disco, hosted by none other than Hannah Conda. And if that’s not enough sparkle for you, brace yourself for the return of the always outrageous Drag King Games—a showdown that will crown a new reigning king in an explosion of charm, talent, and likely, a lot of sequins.
But wait, there’s more! Over on the Main Stage, prepare to be wowed by an epic lineup of performances. From the soulful croons of Royston Noell and the beats of Sumner, to the nostalgic pop queen herself Melissa Tkautz and the cast of the hit musical Titanique, this stage has it all. Oh, and did we mention a Sissy Ball showcase and DJ Nate keeping the vibes hot as the sun sets? Yeah, you’re in for a treat.
Still not hyped enough? The ABSOLUT X DANCEFLOOR is back for its sixth fabulous year, letting you shake, shimmy, and sashay to a diverse lineup of DJs, including Feisty, James Alexandr, L.O.U (VIC), and Joelby, as Absolut proudly honors the queer nightlife that’s lit up Sydney for decades. And if you’re wandering the park, don’t miss the eclectic tunes at the Sun Stage or the vibrant vibes at the Aperol Aperidisco, featuring talents like The Fabulous Wonder Mama, Alex Dugan, and more.
This isn’t just an event; it’s an explosion of queer joy and community spirit. Whether you’re there for the drag royalty, live music, or just to soak up the mesmerising energy of Mardi Gras, Fair Day 2025 is bringing back the magic. Mark your calendars. You won’t want to miss this.
