Their 12 year-old single malt whiskey is scented with spices and honeyed plum fruits. Syrupy with lots of vanilla and fudge, with a whisper of smoke on the finish, it’s a quality batch that might just make your Scotch Day celebrations worthwhile on 8 February 2022. How to make the Aberfeldy Scotch cocktail To make, simply add the honey syrup, bitters and Aberfeldy 12 to a mixing glass, then add ice and stir to dilute (around 30 seconds). non alcoholic wine

Will you be joining the Febfast challenge this year? Well, the good news is, if you are, Fourth Wave Wine has launched a delicious range of new, zero-alcohol wines to make the perfect choice for any social occasion this Febfast.  Let us introduce you to Sobriety Society, a new vegan-friendly and organically farmed range of wines; Plus & Minus Premium, and Plus & Minus Prosecco in a handy 250ml can. The demand for zero-alcohol wines has rocketed in the last twelve months with many Australians simply choosing to consume less or even no alcohol, said Ross Marshall, general manager of Fourth Wave Wine. “This is seen across all age groups but particularly amongst 18–24-year-olds, where the number of non-drinkers has doubled in the past 20 years.” He added part of the reason for the alcohol-free trend was many young people were making either healthier choices or choices more suited to their lifestyle or beliefs. In many cases either reducing their alcohol or simply having decided not to start drinking alcohol at all. He said there were those who preferred to reduce their alcohol intake, as well as a growing number of ‘Sober Curious’ in the older age groups who are looking to moderate their drinking habits. The Sobriety Society range ($17.99 per bottle) Blanc de Blancs All the fizz without the fuzzy head. A classic example of Blanc de Blancs, brimming with citrus and apple and a freshly effervescent mouthfeel. Jam Shed throws out the rule book and says chill your red wine this summer

Jam Shed red wine

If the weather predictions are correct, Christmas is looking to be a warm one for many of us around the country and for red wine lovers, this is the perfect opportunity to break the rules and chill your red wine. Yes, you read correctly….chill your red wine!  Take, for instance, Jam Shed Shiraz and Jam Shed Red Blend. Both of these uncomplicated and delicious wines show their best attributes when cooled down a touch, making them perfect for summer sipping. Sporting smooth, rich and fruit-driven profiles, Jam Shed wines are crafted for people who simply want to enjoy a quality drop at an affordable price all year around. The Jam Shed range also prides itself on being easy drinking, making it an excellent introduction to red wine for new wine drinkers. “Red wine is often misunderstood, and a common myth is that reds should be served at room temperature. Chilling wine allows the flavours to become focused, with the alcohol less evident and the structure tighter. Additionally, wines that are particularly fruit-forward can get lost when they are enjoyed too warm,” says Alison Baker, Jam Shed winemaker.  “Experiment with chilled reds over summer – whether it be serving Spanish-style Sangria or cooling down your favourite bottle of red in an ice bucket. Appreciating wine shouldn’t be complicated and there is no right or wrong way – just find what you enjoy best”. Jam Shed Chill Out Chilling a bottle of red can be done in one of three ways – in the fridge, in the… Read More
