With the help of a VR headset, visitors will step into the fortified city as it stood in 1304, experiencing its vibrant streets, bustling markets, and towering ramparts.
For 45 minutes, you’ll follow the captivating story of Simon, a young nobleman, and Agnès, a rebellious townswoman. Together, they’ll guide you through the city’s lively scenes, from the marketplace to the private quarters of noble residences. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to interact with your surroundings—pick up a shield in combat, sip wine, sample market delicacies, or stand watch on the fortress walls under the stars.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site Brought to Life
Carcassonne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe’s most iconic medieval cities, is renowned for its three-kilometer-long stronghold and its role in guarding the kingdom’s borders. This VR experience meticulously recreates the city at its peak, drawing on the latest historical and architectural research validated by experts from the Centre des monuments nationaux. Every detail, from the architecture to the daily life of its inhabitants, has been painstakingly brought to life.
