Men’s silk shirts and embroidered linen are in: MR PORTER X Off White

MR PORTER Off White 1

MR PORTER and Off White are joining up this month, launching a brand new collection for dudes, 44 pieces strong. Named Modern Office, they’re throwing it right back to the traditional with menswear, keeping it fresh with a hint of active. Founder Virgil Abloh joined MP with Off-White’s typical approach of defining the grey areas between black and white as the colour off-white, while interpreting the collection’s overarching themes of flux, evolution and modernity into a synergy of fabrics, colours, treatment and visuals. George Archer, buyer at MR PORTER says it’s all been designed from the ground-up, with the introduction of new fabrics, silhouettes, colour palettes, and exclusive prints that are not seen in the seasonal lines from Off-White, he said. “The collection is also designed with the MR PORTER customer in mind, with the inclusion of silk shirts, tonal embroidered linen and shearling-lined jackets while keeping the colour palette relatively muted with pastel tones.” Made up of 20 clothing items, 18 accessories and 6 pairs of shoes, the collection is accessible, funky and starts more tonal embroidery than you can poke a stick at. The wine festival in Wellington New Zealand to know about

Wairarapa river

The Wairarapa Wines Harvest Festival is on 9 March 2019, held on the banks of the Ruamahunga River in the Gladstone wine growing region. If you’re nearby, it’s worth the trip. The festival is a great place to sample some of the area’s top drops and regional produce, showing off the best of NZ. This year marks 13 years of the festival that pairs vineyards with regional restaurants to produce a range of outstanding dishes. It gives visitors the chance to sample the fare and take their pick of wines from not only the larger, better known wineries of the region, but also from some of the area’s smaller, boutique producers. The sheltered riverside setting is close to both Masterton and Carterton, which is only 1 hr 15 from Wellington. See more about the festival here.

British Airways are doing 100 acts of kindness this 2019

British Airways NYC

British Airways has created some extra special Christmas magic for a group of kids by taking them on the trip of a lifetime to New York City. They were taken to ‘live like Kevin’, a concept inspired by the story of Kevin in Home Alone 2. British Airways is all about Christmas and Chrissy surprises this season and they’ve even documented the whole shebang in two videos they’ve produced of the fun times in NYC. A little bit American movie-style, a little bit cute, they’re worth a watch: The second video is a longer chronicle of their adventure and is equally as cute. it was a three-day trip to NYC, where British Airways pulled out all the movie-style stops, with a stay at the iconic Plaza Hotel, ice skating in Central Park, a visit to the Rockettes show at the Radio City Music Hall, toy shopping in the newly re-opened FAO Schwarz and an ice cream feast in the Plaza Hotel’s most exclusive and prestigious guest room, The Presidential Suite. See more about the program and how you can go into the running to win a little bit of magic this 2019 thanks to British Airways at their website.
