What sets these kitchens apart is the technology installed in the kitchens this year. Bosch appliances were used throughout The Block in the ovens and in stove tops but the winning kitchen used appliances from Gaggenau, the Rolex of kitchen appliances, having multiple ovens, a wine fridge and sub-zero fridge in their kitchen and butler’s pantry.
A huge trend throughout the kitchens were Caesarstone’s marble kitchen island bench’s. With many variations of stone used, a popular finish was a concrete finish, giving the marble a concrete without using concrete as the base. With such large kitchens, the ample kitchen storage and cabinetry was provided by Freedom Kitchens, the contestants loving darker colours of burnished wood, with the exception of 2 contestants, opting for a more fresh ‘Hamptons’ feel in their kitchen with white cabinetry.
The ultimate cabinetry on The Block came in the contestants walk-in-robes in the master bedrooms. Provided by Kinsman Wardrobes, the walk-in-robes exude luxury, sleek cabinetry and fine finishes. Most contestants chose to use dark exteriors on their cabinetry making the robes feel and look moody and intimate, with one contestant following suit from their ‘Hamptons-style’ kitchen and opting for white finish on their cabinetry. What the Kinsman wardrobes specialise in is the incredible features of each walk-in-robe, from make up stations, shoe drawers, tie rack, phone app lighting and even black home safes.
