This is the fitness tracker for people serious about fitness

A black watch and a white watch side-by-side

There are a lot of fitness trackers on the market and finding the right one to suit your needs isn’t always so simple. We’re here to help with a review of one very slick fitness tracker that does it all. Meet the Huawei GT 3 Pro, the ultimate fitness tracker for people serious about fitness.

With a redefined smartwatch look, the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro is a premium and stylish tracker with enough innovative features to make any tech-nerd drool. It blends classic craftsmanship with timeless, customisable style, making it a fashion piece you’ll want to wear. With long lasting battery life (14-days of battery life for the GT 3 Pro Titanium. 7 days for the Ceramic), over 100 completely personalised workouts, remote shutter feature, answering of calls, ability to listen to tunes, its water resistance and other health-focused features, this watch builds on from its predecessor, the Huawei Watch GT 3, this smartwatch takes things even further, literally, and now boasts a diving depth of up to 30 metres!

The Huawei GT 3 Pro is definitely the right fitness tracker for water babies. The Free Diving Mode is equipped with IP68 and 5 ATM water resistance ratings, allows wearers to venture 30 metres underwater, all while the watch tracks your depth and timing. While all-day heart rate tracking is part and parcel in high end smartwatches, the Sp02 monitoring to check the oxygen in your blood that the GT 3 Pro provides is very handy for divers.

Now that we know the specs, what are the pros and cons? Let’s review the the Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro!

Disclaimer: I had the chance to review this amazing piece of tech, no payment received, and all opinions, pros and cons are my own

PROS

  • The look. There is no denying this is easily one of the most stylish fitness trackers on the market. I got a lot of compliments about my new “watch” and everyone was so impressed when I said it was actually a tracker.
  • The all encompassing fitness options. Unlike some trackers that say, only measure your steps or track a run, the GT 3 Pro will capture everything from a HIIT workout, to a cycle, cross-country skiing, to a swim. Because you can use the app to input your height and weight, the calorie and heart rate tracking is the most accurate I’ve found.
  • The intuition. The GT 3 Pro tracks your sleep, heart rate all day and temperature whenever you need. It will even sense you’re doing a workout and prompt you to start (so no excuses!).
  • The personalisation. Instead of one size fits all, you can make this tracker your own by customising the face to suit your tastes (there are hundreds to download!), add or remove app features and order your workouts so your favourites are always at the top.
  • The battery. In the 14 days I trialled this I charged it three times. That’s pretty impressive considering it’s constantly tracking and the GT Pro 3 Ceramic is meant to last 7 days with typical usage (I used it daily for long workouts). It was also very fast charging!

CONS

  • The weight. It’s a fine piece of bling, but this is a heavy tracker and high impact exercises like boxing can be uncomfortable if it can’t be tightened enough (which was an issue I had being between link sizes).
  • The GPS. This feature may be limited from the area I live in, but the GPS struggled to find where I was sometimes when beginning a walk and reporting on the weather. Possibly user error of course, but if you did want to use your watch for checking the forecast one to keep in mind.
  • The advanced nature. This could be seen as a pro or a con, but this is a very advanced watch. It tracks your Sp02 which is the oxygen saturation of your blood. If you’re a diver, this is important to know, but for most people perhaps not. I’d recommend having a good read of all the features and seeing if you’ll use them. Huawei sell many trackers so the model down may be more suited to your workout needs.
