Shelter Bali is excited to present the latest chapter of its eagerly awaited Shelter Sessions: Volume 3, featuring Michelin-starred chef Jake Kellie from arkhé restaurant in Adelaide. This event pledges to be a culinary extravaganza of immense proportions as the collaboration between Shelter’s Head Chef Stephen Moore and Jake Kellie will birth a menu that’s set to satisfy your cravings and leave you hungry for more.
Renowned for hosting some of the world’s top chefs, Shelter Bali has previously welcomed Michelin-starred Andrew Walsh from Catfish Izakaya in Singapore, and the acclaimed Ross Magnaye of Serai Melbourne and MasterChef Australia. Both events were an absolute hit, uniting the local hospitality community and international guests for a leisurely lunch that extended into an evening of merriment.
Jake Kellie certainly holds his own. His remarkable career includes working alongside culinary giants like Dave Pynt (Burnt Ends #65 World’s Best Restaurant), Heston Blumenthal (The Fat Duck, UK), Brett Graham (The Ledbury, London), Scott Pickett (Estelle, Melbourne), and Matt Moran (Aria, Sydney). As part of his two-and-a-half-year tenure at Burnt Ends, Kellie honed his skills in open-fire barbequing and was a finalist in the 2018 San Pellegrino Young Chef competition in Milan. His expansive experience has led him to his current role as the Executive Chef and Owner of arkhé, Adelaide’s premier open-flame restaurant. Since its launch in 2021, arkhé has been showered with praise for its sleek neighborhood bar feel, global ethos, soulful vibe, and immersive dining experience centered around the restaurant’s open kitchen and massive dual cavity oven.
Stephen and Jake first crossed paths at Burnt Ends and have since remained friends, collaborating on numerous culinary events. Stephen is eager to welcome Jake to Bali, stating, “Collaborating with Jake on a menu that melds our combined knowledge and culinary philosophies into a memorable dining experience for our guests is something I am genuinely excited about. Our open fire at Shelter Bali is the ideal stage to spotlight his skills, and I am eager for our guests to see what we’ve planned.”
Shelter Sessions: Volume 3, featuring Jake Kellie from arkhé restaurant in Adelaide, is scheduled for Saturday, 29th July, from 12 pm to 4 pm at the breathtaking Shelter Bali location in Pererenan, Bali.
