9 most iconic celeb-owned alcohol brands

Ryan Reynolds gin

You may know your go-to Friday night cocktail recipe off by heart, but did you ever stop to think about who might be manufacturing your favourite tipple? As it turns out, many celebrities are involved in the alcohol industry, and are more than just a pretty face; they’re often the brains behind what goes in the bottle…

These are some of the most successful celeb-owned alcohol brands we recommend adding to your bar cart ASAP.

Ryan Reynolds

Ryan Reynolds was always an avid lover of gin and became a co-owner and creative director of Aviation Gin simply because he loved the taste, crowning it the best gin on the planet. The gin is well-loved because of its clean taste and versatility. It can be consumed on its own, but is recommended as a base for cocktails due to its tasty, mix-able culmination of seven botanicals. Aviation was valued at around $610 million and is available for purchase worldwide.

George Clooney

In 2013, Clooney, alongside Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, launched Casamigos, a tequila and mezcal label. The group first started manufacturing this tequila according to their personal tastes (a tasty tequila with no need for salt or lime), to be shared among family and friends, but eventually went public with the creation. Casamigos sold in 2017 to Diageo for $1 billion, and is now one of the most highly-regarded tequilas on the market.

Graham Norton

Talk show host, Graham Norton, has submerged himself in the alcohol industry with his collection of wines and gins. Norton is not just the face of his products but personally controls the creation and blending process. His SauviGNon Blanc took Australia and New Zealand by storm and sold over 400,000 in the first month of its release. It’s now joined by a refined collection of Shiraz, Rosé, Prosecco and Gin.

Snoop Dogg

Red wine and Snoop Dogg may sound like a mismatched pairing, but surprisingly, the dynamic duo go down quite smoothly. Snoop’s Cali Red was created in partnership with the brand, 19 Crimes, in an attempt to bring his personal defiance and boldness to the taste of wine. His full, dense, fruity mix is now available on Aussie shelves alongside a newly released Cali Rosé.

Kylie Minogue

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has welcomed her colourful, bubbliness to her bespoke wine collection. Wines by Kylie Minogue launched in 2020 and features a variety of whites, reds and rosé hand-picked by Kylie herself, with a signature pink, fruity flavour and luxurious packaging. We should be so lucky!

Kendall Jenner

Like her sisters, Kendall Jenner ventured into becoming a business owner with the launch of her tequila brand, 818. Over four years, Kendall worked closely with family-owned farms in Jalisco, Mexico to create a smooth, tasty tequila. Named after the area code for her home in San Fernando Valley, LA, this celeb’s tequila is now the winner of multiple tasting competitions and alcohol awards.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie

Although no longer a couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remain co-owners of Château Miraval, the French winery they first purchased together in 2011. The couple worked together to make Miraval one of the most popular rosé brands in the world. This collection was created in an attempt to make the delicacy and indulgence of French wine more accessible.

Sarah Jessica Parker

In collaboration with New Zealand company, Invivo, SJP launched her own Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé in 2019. Matching her trademark Carrie Bradshaw glamour, these wines were created, tested (down to the label design) by Sarah herself. The announcement of this collab was met with success and has since sold over 500,000 bottles – for those quick enough to get their hands on the limited-edition run.

Diddy

Sean Combs (also known as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy or Diddy), was responsible for the success of the renowned Cîroc vodka. After the vodka launched in 2003, Diddy signed with the brand and grew their profits enormously. Diddy continued working with the brand and took part in creating the vodka’s additional flavours; coconut, peach, pineapple, mango. This vodka now one of the world’s most recognisable spirits.
