Sydney Comedy Festival is back for its 15th year

The Sydney Comedy Festival will celebrate its 15th year by delivering some of the finest comedians from all over the world in a huge event across four weeks from 22 April to 19 May. They’ve begun to announce some of the talent who will be taking part in next year’s event and it turns out it’s not half bad. The likes of Arj Barker (US), Ross Noble (UK), Stephen K Amos (UK), Daniel Sloss (SCO), Georgie Carroll (UK/AUST), and New Zealand International Comedy Festival’s 2017 Best Newcomer Award winner Melanie Bracewell (NZ), it’ll be a lol or two. Local stars joining the line-up include TV regular Nazeem Hussain, the acid-tongue prince Joel Creasey, the hilariously outspoken Akmal, Australia’s only Turkish comic Tahir, musical comedy duo The Stevenson Experience, and rising star and Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s 2017 Director’s Choice Award winner Demi Lardner. The festival starts at Enmore Theatre on 23 April, before moving to the Sydney Opera House and Riverside Theatres on 24 April and The Concourse on 25 April. With a dazzling line-up of the funniest international and local stars, the Gala is the perfect taste of what’s on offer throughout the festival. Tickets for these shows will go on sale to the general public as of 10am on Friday 16 November via sydneycomedyfest.com.au.
