First Potts Point Bloom Festival is on!

Florist flowers

Spring has finally sprung, and what better way to celebrate than with a blooming spectacle right in the heart of Sydney? Potts Point Village is rolling out the green carpet this October with the Potts Point in Bloom Festival, a ten-day floral fiesta running from October 10th to 20th. If you’ve ever fancied yourself a connoisseur of all things vibrant and vivacious, then this is your chance to dive into a kaleidoscope of colours and creativity, all while exploring the newly launched Potts Point Village micro-precinct. Picture this: 30 local retailers joining forces to transform the streets of Potts Point into a living canvas of floral art. Each retailer will put their unique spin on the festival’s theme, promising a sensory overload that will have you wandering the streets like a wide-eyed child in a candy store. From fashion and interiors to dining delights, the festival invites you to sip, shop, and stroll through one of Sydney’s most iconic neighbourhoods. As Lorraine Lock, Precinct Manager and local legend who’s been part of the Potts Point community for over thirty years, puts it, “Potts Point Village has long been a cultural and creative hub. Our goal is to celebrate Potts Point’s rich heritage while inviting everyone to discover the exceptional design and culinary experiences our precinct offers.” Kicking off with an evening of cocktails and late-night shopping on October 10th, the festival promises exclusive promotions and drinks at local favourites like Potts Point Bookshop, Baz Inc, and Ms Cattea Tea Bar. And if you’re prone to… Read More

Let yourself Bloom at Melbourne’s newest spiritual-fest

Bloom Festival

If your idea of a good weekend involves sipping kombucha and doing breathwork while nibbling on a vegan curry and shopping for new essential oils, Super Bloom is the festival for you. Held at Melbourne’s iconic Abbotsford Convent over a weekend in April, Super Bloom brought together everything to do with the mind, body, and spirit. More than one hundred sessions covered everything from meditative breathing techniques to vulva painting, and classes covered tantric practises, raw vegan desserts, and even some pop-up lessons from the School of Life. Over fifty speakers also took the stage, sharing how-to wisdom on healthy relationships, waste-free cooking, and ‘extreme wellness’. If you’re a bit of a cynic, this might all sound like a lot to take in: after all, some of us would rather spend the weekend eating meat and staying up late instead of indulging in vegan cooking and practising yoga. But the festival’s program was pretty free and easy, much like the topics it celebrates. Guests could drift in and out of classes and workshops as they pleased, and take some time out on the sunny lawn of the Abbotsford Convent while they rested and relaxed between speakers. To keep things light, roaming performance artists circulated throughout the grounds, allowing guests to partipate in silent discos and even, if they were lucky, take a quick nap while being guarded by The Sleep Keepers. Sound mysterious enough yet? Keep an eye on superbloomfestival.com for your next chance to unleash your inner yogi, and free your mind.
