What to know about the Monaco Yacht Show Superyacht Awards ceremony

Sure, Sydney Harbour is nice and all, but have you seen Le Méridien Beach Plaza Hotel in Monte Carlo?

It kind of takes the cake when it comes to the yacht game, which is why in the recent iteration of the event, three superyachts stood out above the competition at the 5th Monaco Yacht Show Superyachts Award Ceremony, the inaugural gala event of the world’s most prestigious superyacht show.

SOLO, winner of the 2018 MYS/RINA Award

Solo superyacht

The award honours the superyacht whose construction complies with the environmental standards established by the Italian classification company RINA.

Winner: SOLO (71.9-m motoryacht, delivered in 2018 by Tankoa Yachts).

 

ILLUSION PLUS, winner of the 2018 MYS Interior Design Award

Illusion Plus superyacht

This award recognises the beauty, comfort and functionality of the exceptional interior.

Winner: ILLUSION (88.5m motoryacht, delivered in 2018 by Tankoa Yachts).

The jaw-dropping megayacht DAR, built by the Dutch shipyard Oceanco, won two awards yesterday evening.

The MYS Exterior Design Award and climax of the ceremony, the MYS Finest New Superyacht Award which pays tribute to the beauty and luxury of a new superyacht at the MYS, her exterior and interior design and functionalities as well as her highly technical and state-of-the-art performance.

Winner: DAR (90-m motoryacht, delivered in 2018 by Oceanco).
