Calibre’s morning routine

My morning routine consists of waking-up generally when I feel like it, a spot of exercise, food if I hunger and getting into gear for the remainder of my day.

Calibre’s is somewhat different, a lot more hasty, a lot more well dressed and a lot more attractive.

The label’s new AW collection is stunning as per usual. In true Calibre style, it features easy to manoeuvre colours and cuts that complement each other so harmoniously and flatteringly it makes you want to gag. Calibre’s founder and director, Gary Zecevic has hit the nail on the head when it comes to what makes Australian men’s best side come-out on top every day.

What I like about the video and the overall campaign is that it’s so every day and aims to appeal to the general run-of-the-mill man with a wicked sense of style and the know-how on how and why to dress the way he should.

The video and photographs were shot in the lift of the Manchester Unity building in Melbourne and brings to life the concept behind the season’s look book images. While we don’t see the style and finesse that goes into achieving the Calibre man look, we get a sneak peek into his happy-go-lucky, cheeky morning ritual behind closed doors.

The Calibre Winter 2012 collection is a bit of a return to elegance with clean-cut tailoring and a contemporary edge. They’ve wanted to remove menswear from the typical previous decade of dark, grey winters and allow colour to be the namesake of the AW12 collection.

Shades of mustard, olive, blue and cherry are injected heavily into this season’s collection. Strong beats of colour are notable in tailored coats, jacquard sweaters, fine knits and more prominently in slim leg pants. Colour is the new black this winter and the Calibre man is not afraid to experiment with it.

You can find Calibre in all Calibre stores and David Jones outlets.
