Morgans Beach Shack

Morgan’s Beach Shack, wine shop and ale house will open in Sorrento

By the same people who revamped Sorrento’s beloved Continental ‘Conty’ Hotel, Morgan’s Beach Shack is the Victorian waterside location and beach-luxe venue down the Mornington Peninsula you need to visit.

It’ll be complemented with a fresh, seafood-based menu designed by renowned chef Dave Stewart, owner of Melbourne’s Ascot Food Store and Paul Tyas, head chef at St Kilda’s Grosvenor Hotel.

Think cape-cod inspired lobster roll, perfectly crisped calamari and fresh linguini with local mussels, prawns, scallops and vongole garlic while you dine under festoon lights and fresh white umbrellas.

Morgan’s is the baby of prominent hotelier Julian Gerner and local developer Steller, who will bring the well-known location on Sorrento’s esplanade back to life with a new look and feel.

The new beach shack will go beach chic with light timber and crisp, white furniture throughout. Festoon lighting across the bay-facing deck, outdoor lounges and a cosy fireplace for cooler nights will cement its warm and inviting atmosphere that is suitable for the entire family.

With a menu that’ll include seafood linguini with local mussels, prawns, scallops and vongole garlic, a moreish Cape Cod-inspired lobster roll, ora salmon with new season potato, sugar snaps and mustard dressing and a southern fried chicken burger.

The menu will be served alongside a wide range of wines, ales, beers and cocktails.
