Look after your eyes, ears and skin! It’s simple!

Your skin, eyes and ears are so important. The way we take care of them is vital to our health and looks. Our skin should always look glowing and thriving. Our eyes are supposed to be treated well and our hearing should always be checked too. It’s good to practice self care and also greatly important! So what routines will assist?

Get a good skin care routine

Makeup remover

First remove the remnants of makeup. For normal, combination or dry skin, the make-up remover is suitable, while for sensitive and dry skin, prefer a make-up remover oil or hydrophilic oil, which when mixed with water creates a soft foam and removes even the waterproof make-up.

Skin cleansing

For more detail in make-up removal, use face lotion. Oily skin requires micellar water which is enough to use only twice a week. The rest of the days it is enough to use cleansing gel or foam. Once a week use exfoliation to rid your skin of dead cells. (If you want to simplify the make-up remover, choose a two-phase make-up remover with oil!). It is also important to include a toning lotion in your daily care – it is the basis of moisturizing the skin, softening it and preparing it for the next steps.

Intensive skin care

Find the time and apply a face mask once a week. Choose a moisturizing mask for dry skin, a cleansing mask for oily skin and a collagen mask for the first wrinkles. Daily nourishment and hydration of the skin For daily skin care, the serum is another “must have” especially for the ages after thirty. Collagen serum strengthens the skin and serum with hyaluronic acid moisturizes it … Just apply a few drops with light strokes on your face. I must emphasize that in the context of the daily routine you must include in all steps the skin in the neck and décolleté area! And then we get to the night cream, the good stuff! Compared to day cream it is more compact, more nutritious, but that does not necessarily mean that it is greasy. Avoid only the eye area for which the eye cream is intended. The evening routine is over!

Moisturizing your skin is one of those things we underestimate but should not. Imagine our skin as a grape. When it loses water, it begins to shrink and wrinkles may appear.

But once you are hydrated again, this can help to fill in and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The same goes for our eye area. Since they do not have oil glands (our skin’s natural moisturiser), they may be more prone to dryness. The most common question about moisturising this part of your face is whether you can use moisturising face cream for the skin around your eyes. The answer is yes. 

Take care of your eyes!

We have heard various tips from time to time on how to protect our eyesight at all ages. It is important to take care of our eyes, as well as to have regular check-ups with our ophthalmologist. Many eye diseases, such as glaucoma, progress slowly and almost imperceptibly. In addition, changing some habits and improving our diet can help us have the best possible vision. Many eye diseases are related to age and diet and the most common are glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts and retinopathy. Cataracts and glaucoma have also increased in people over 40. Small daily changes to take care of your eyes. 

Daily walking and exercise

Green tea contains ingredients that protect against diabetes and heart disease, as well as retinal damage.

Wear sunglasses

UV radiation is bad for the eyes and when we are in areas with snow, sand or water, the reflection makes the effects even worse. A good pair of sunglasses can block up to 100% of ultraviolet radiation.

Make changes to your diet

A diet rich in fruits and vegetables also cares for the eyes. Fiber slows down the absorption of cholesterol and sugar and the antioxidants and anti-inflammatory elements they contain strengthen blood vessels. Finally, a diet rich in antioxidants, zinc and omega-3 fats reduces the risk of macular degeneration. Avoid smoking as cigarettes create free radicals, which destroy healthy cells and tissues and can cause eye damage.

Get your eyes checked regularly 

You should always get an eye test every two years and see if you need to wear glasses. You can get super stylish glasses and look great. You may think ‘I can’t find any glasses that match my look’ but that doesn’t have to be the case!

Get your hearing tested! 

Your eyes are subject to a lot and therefore a checkup with an audiologist is always recommended every year or so. At home, in the office, on the street, on the subway or on the bus, more and more of us wear headphones to concentrate, isolate ourselves from outside noises, or just listen to music. How do they affect our hearing? Can they cause harm or even deafness? Well, the chance is, yes they can. 

Check in case you need a hearing aid

Hearing loss can start long before its symptoms appear and develop very slowly and gradually. This is one of the most common conditions that affects people as they grow older. If you are experiencing age-related changes in hearing loss, you may not realize how much you are losing because the transition from hearing to difficulty is gradual.

How can I safely clean my ears?

Knowing how to properly clean your ears is an important part of hygiene and self-preservation. However, unlike brushing your teeth and showering, it does not need to be done very often. Don’t suffer with wax!

If you think you may be suffering from a blockage, schedule a visit to your doctor or other hearing professional. Symptoms can be difficult to spot, as they can be misdiagnosed or overlooked. If you think you are experiencing hearing loss due to accumulated wax, do not try to deal with the impact yourself and do not use foreign objects to try to remove the wax. The inside of your ear is very sensitive and you may end up injuring yourself seriously.
