Hoges Barbecure

How being Australian is curing cancer for all with Barbecure

Paul Hogan introduced the world to the Aussie BBQ in the 1980s.

Thirty years later, he’s doing it again, as the star of Australia’s first ever charity ‘Host with Hoges’, a specially populated bot for Messenger, to raise awareness for Cure Cancer Australia’s BARBECURE campaign.

Now in its second year in 2018, Cure Cancer Australia is encouraging people to turn their summer barbecue into a ‘barbecure’ as a nationwide initiative designed to raise funds to support Australia’s brightest early-career cancer researchers as they work towards finding a cure.

It’s kind of shocking to think that on average, one Australian dies every 12 minutes from cancer, so for the likes of Hoges to be doing this sort of good work is a great effort.

Cure Cancer Australia is dedicated to funding crucial research for all types of cancer from Australia’s emerging minds. As well as providing funding for early-career researchers, the grants also increase their chances of gaining funding from other grant agencies in the future.

Up and running until the end of March

The ‘Host with Hoges’ Bot runs until end of March 2018, so to download the Bot for Messenger and become a host or donate, open your Messenger app and search for ‘Host with Hoges’, or visit here.
