8 tips to make your hair more beautiful

Everyone deserves beautiful hair, so take some time to assess your hair routine. At home, you can make changes to obtain healthy, softer and shinier locks without breaking the bank.

Follow this guide for tips on achieving beautiful hair.

1) Turn down the temperature

Heat strips the natural oil from our hair. As relaxing as a hot shower can be, warm water is much better to wash your hair with.

After the shower quickly rinse with cold water to tighten the hair cuticles, increasing the shine and improving the hair’s condition. This will prevent brittle hair and keep the hair looking soft.

If you are using heat styling tools, use products that will protect your hair. The best hair curler for the job will style your hair without leaving it dry and damaged.

You can also protect your hair from curling irons and straighteners using hair products that prevent heat damage.

Want to achieve healthy hair quick? Even if you have the best hair curler, opt to let your hair air dry first. Walking around with damp hair is not always fun, but it will prevent unnecessary hair breakage.

 2) Sleep on silk

A silk pillowcase is not only amazing to sleep on, but it will help you to get healthy hair. Silk prevents friction between hairs and fabrics which will reduce your risk of developing split ends. You should also

change how you wear your hair at night. If you sleep with it in a loose topknot – secured with a silk scrunchie – or a loose braid if you have thick hair, you will be able to have more control over your hair.

3) Wash and Condition correctly — and with care

In a pinch, you can use dry shampoo to give your hair the appearance of being clean. Focus shampoo on your scalp in the shower – it is not necessary to cover all your hair with it. When you rinse off the shampoo, it will run down to your ends, removing any dirt as it goes.

Don’t use too much conditioner in your hair. It’s advisable to use a conditioner amount the size of a nickel if your hair is long, but follow instructions on the bottle.

Apply to the ends of your hair first, working your way to your hairline. Allow the conditioner to be absorbed for a few minutes before you rinse.

4) Keep an eye on the key ingredients

For the best hair care routine you should use products that are silicone- and sulfate-free. These products won’t dry out your hair as much and retain more natural oils on your scalp.

Products with alcohol in them will also dry out your hair.

5) Brush your hair before you shower

Brushing your hair while it’s wet can cause damage. When your hair gets wet, your hair becomes vulnerable to breakage. Brushing dry hair also moves the oils of the scalp to your tips.

Gently detangle your hair from the bottom to the scalp, being careful not to pull or break your hair.

For textured hair, wait until after you have showered and brush your hair when it is slightly damp.

6) Take time for hair masks

For keeping hair hydrated and smooth, use a moisturising mask on your hair regularly. While still in the shower, rub a mask into your wet hair and leave it in for 10 minutes.

Wash the mask off and enjoy your great hair.

Look out for masks with avocado, grapeseed, or olive oil for natural hydration. If you cannot find a hair mask, you can also try leave-in conditioner to treat your damaged hair.

7) Eat a balanced diet

It is obvious: you’re what you eat – and this goes for your hair health too! Your hair is made up mostly of proteins so eating healthy and nutritious foods can be beneficial to you.

Eggs, spinach, leafy greens and avocados are great ingredients that will leave your hair healthy.

8) Go for regular haircuts and let your hair down

If you are working towards long hair, having your hair cut can be painful. Regular haircuts will remove any damage to your hair, and the salon will also use quality hair products for healthy locks.

If you love an updo, try wearing your hair down whenever you can. Letting go of tight hairstyles will allow your hair to rest, resulting in healthier hair.

Take a deep breath

Your hair is part of your body, and if you are relaxed, your hair will be healthier too.
