Good self-care starts with locally made, ethical and sustainable brand ‘Peggy Sue’

There’s so much to love about organic skincare brand Peggy Sue. Sustainable, ethical, natural, Australian made and owned – it ticks all the boxes for those seeking a more eco-friendly, plant-based alternative without the inflated price tag.

The gorgeous Peggy Sue range is paraben-free, petroleum-free, sulphate-free, palm oil-free, silicone-free and has no artificial colours or fragrances. No nasties, just the really good stuff!

Based on the NSW South Coast, Peggy Sue founders Alysha and Shanah created their beautiful brand to help us ‘slow things down with meaningful moments of self-care’, while caring for the earth together. And when coping with adversity like many of us have over the last six months during the health crisis, it’s more important than ever that we continue to care for those around us and more importantly, ourselves.

Self-care matters, so what better way to take care of yourself than by adopting a daily ‘me time’ regime, using quality products that enhance your mental and physical well-being and knowing that you’re doing it responsibly. Go you!

The Silk Lips Lip Kit will leave lips fuller, plumper and silky smooth.

Pucker up, Sugar Lips!

95% of Peggy Sue’s range can be refilled, which reduces their carbon footprint and breaks the consume-and-discard cycle. Take for example the organic Lip Conditioner (RRP $14) that is housed in a gorgeous bamboo twist tube. Once you’re down to your last few applications, jump online and simply re-order a refill for $12.

The key ingredients in the Lip Conditioner are organic beeswax, organic shea butter, fractionated coconut oil, organic olive oil, natural vitamin E and vanilla oil.

If you want to spoil mum, a friend or yourself, the Silk Lips Lip Kit (RRP $30) is a beautifully packaged bundle that will make your lips sing with joy. As well as the organic Lip Conditioner, also included is a Lip Exfoliant in a gorgeous, matching bamboo tub. Key ingredients are castor oil, sugar, hydrogenated castor oil, carnauba wax, shea butter, lemon oil, lemon myrtle oil and natural vitamin E. And yes, these items can be refilled!

Online refills come with a return envelope so the empty refill pouch can be sent back to Peggy Sue to be repurposed. For bottle refills, Peggy Sue cleverly provides free stainless steel funnels for effortless refilling.

Brew Pockets will leave your skin feeling revitalised and silky smooth.

Enjoy a big tea bag in the bath!

Love a good, long soak in the bath? Then you will love Peggy Sue’s Bath Brew Pockets (RRP $23 for 3 pockets).

There are three products to choose from: Tea Bath, Milk Bath and Pink Bath.

The Pink Bath: The Pink Bath Brew Pockets are filled with a blend of pink clay and pink himalayan rock salts, which together infuse the bath water with vitamins and magnesium.

Tea Bath: The Tea Bath Brew Pocket is filled with a blend of dried herbs and flowers, which together infuse the bath water with vitamins and antioxidants.

Milk Bath: The Milk Bath Brew Pocket is filled with a blend of coconut milk powder and oats, which together infuse the bath water with vitamins and moisturising properties.

The bags are biodegradable, so once you’ve finished enjoying a long, relaxing soak, simply pop the used pocket in your compost bin.

This versatile oil can also be used on the ends of your hair, or on the cuticles.

The beauty oil that does it all

Winter is the worst when it comes to dry skin, which is why Peggy Sue’s Bath & Body Oil (RRP $44) is perfect for rejuvenating the skin. The key ingredients are grapefruit oil, jojoba oil and coconut oil. You simply apply the oil onto your skin and rub it in until it is completely absorbed. Alternatively, add 20-30 drops into running bath water, and enjoy a relaxing, hydrating soak.

Unfortunately the Bath & Body Oil cannot be refilled as the flowers inside the bottle can’t be removed, which makes it hard to clean the bottle effectively.
