Wild Sage has opened a second restaurant in Barangaroo and you NEED to go

Think urban-cool, mixed with all the bells-and-whistles of contemporary interior design coupled with a seriously f&%$-off good menu and you have the latest iteration of Wild Sage Sydney.

Since opening their first restaurant in Cammeray NSW, the name has become one in the same enough with seriously quality food and a nice atmosphere that the demand was there for them to open in Sydney’s latest urban development project, Barangaroo.

The home to the offices of some of the world’s biggest banks, corporations and fellow cafes and bars (read about them all here), Barangaroo has made for the perfect place for Wild Sage Barangaroo to call home.

Think concrete, polished finishings, a modest-but-stylish al fresco dining space, adequate mood lighting and a menu that takes the original from the suburbs and turns it about about 10 notches to really give the 23,000 inhabitants of Barangaroo something to look forward to eating.

The menu is about as far-reaching as the wine list, taking cues from Middle Eastern, Italian and contemporary Australian fare to create what is a pretty well-rounded and easy-to-interpret menu that leaves the flavours and textures to really do the talking.

With a staff who are as exceedingly friendly as the food is sumptuous, it’s easy to feel at home as you order such reimagined classics as beetroot hummus with crispy chickpeas as a starter, their signature and new-to-the-menu ‘black’ chicken (thanks to its pepper coating) and a fall-off-the-bone soft 250g wagyu strip loin.

It wouldn’t be Wild Sage, though, without its signature dessert of Toblerone-stuffed filo pastry parcels with ice-cream and strawberries to finish-off any dinner. They’re a must-have.

The restaurant is a charming finger print of its owner, who turned the new restaurant around in a few days once the setting was selected and the rest has fallen into place since.

Wild Sage is one of the Streets of Barangaroo’s finest restaurant, wine and coffee and breakfast venues, throwing open its door from early in the morning right through to late at night.
