Why You Need To Try The New Menu At Cafe Del Mar Sydney

Nothing quite says ‘spring’ like waterfront dining so what better way to welcome the warmer weather than by dining at Cafe Del Mar, right on Darling Harbour, Sydney.

Showcasing their wares comes at no easy feat, but the top of the Sydney restaurant’s Spring Menu is well and truly indicative of 2016’s hotspot for fresh, inspired and delicious food.

The entrees offer a range of tastes to suit everyone. The beef  carpaccio that is so thin you can see the candlelight through it, and the seared Atlantic scallops that were easily the best the great restaurant strip along the boulevard (and we’re no scallop novices).

The mains do not disappoint as a deliciously large plate of pork belly,  rolled loin, morcilla sausage and a hint of pear appear before you. There’s a lot of meat, great for sharing, topped off only by the sensational  thyme gnocchi with mushrooms and blackened corn. That was totally different to anything we’ve tried before and highly recommend to anyone who wants good, melt-in-your-mouth gnocchi with unique flavours.

To finish you’re able to sample (i.e. inhale) a pear tarte-tatin that would make any Parisian proud and a burnt honey panna cotta. The panna cotta is paired with slow cooked quince and was such a delight, it was declared the star of the meal.

But what would a meal without drinks be? Cafe Del Mar is known for their  stunning cocktails and we weren’t going to miss any of them! The Cafe Del Mar-Tini (extra points for puns) is one of a kind, with coconut vodka, pineapple and fresh basil, it was a great pick me up after a long day at work. The San Antoni margarita with kaffir  lime leaf infused tequila, ginger liquor and passion fruit was a summery twist on a classic. Lastly, the Raspberry Honeycomb Caiprioska is almost a dessert in itself! Honeycomb infused vodka (we NEED to know where to buy this), raspberry, lime and a hint  of nutmeg syrup, made for a sweet mid-week treat.

All sounds delightful? Don’t trust us, try Cafe Del Mar out for yourself! Head here to book a table.
