Why You Need To Be At The Beresford Hotel This Mardi Gras
It’s one of the gayest festivals in the world and it’s descending on Sydney.
The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2016 will envelop Sydney for its annual festival, culminating with the pride march on 5 March down the heart of gay Sydney, Oxford St.
After the official parade takes place on Saturday 5 March, Beresford Sundays by Sydney’s largest hospitality group, Merivale, will be wrapping up Mardi Gras in style with its annual laneway extravaganza the day after the march. A cherished tradition of the Festival, The Laneway has evolved from a portable stereo on Hill St back in the day, to an exciting and eclectic street party. The expected hundreds of guests can expect live music, diva drop-ins, pop-up shows and world class DJs across a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces.
To celebrate the many couples who have met at The Beresford, the hotel and GAYDAR have commissioned an Anthony Lister artwork for the beloved Surry Hills beer garden. The Sydney-based artist, whose works have appeared in stand-out solo exhibitions in London and New York, created the bright rainbow painting to celebrate marriage equality.
HAPPY MARDI GRAS!
