Where To Go In Sydney To Celebrate Truffle Season

Truffle season is upon us!

This winter there is a ‘truffle trail’ around Sydney that is worth following, thanks to the Keystone Group and all their venues. They’re teaming-up with Madame Truffles and Fletcher Wines to hand deliver the very finest Australian truffles to your table. F

or six weeks from 15 June to the end of July, Keystone chefs at The Winery, Gazebo, The Rook, Manly Wine, Kingsley’s Woolloomooloo and Chophouse are hunting down the world’s greatest delicacy to create extra special truffle-inspired menus to tickle every food lover’s tastebuds.

You need to go to these venues to give it a proper go:

Every Wednesday from 15 June – 27 July, Gazebo presents Cheese Truffle Dego – a spectacular five-course cheese & truffle degustation menu 5 courses $75 & with matching wines $95.
On Wednesday, 22 June, Weds 6 July & Weds 20 July between 6-8 Madame Truffles will also be in venue to showcase its delicious range of Australian truffles.

Every Thursday (from 16 June – 28 July) is Truffle Thursdays at Manly Wine. Choose a truffle dish for entrée, main or dessert (or all three, we won’t judge), including such delicacies as seared scallops, whipped cauliflower, truffles, quail’s egg & crispy pancetta, , Roast duck breast, truffles, mushroom cream, Jerusalem artichoke, enoki & red wine and Baked Vacherin, truffles, honey, crispbread, thyme & white wine.

The Argrarian Kitchen Truffle Tribe Dinner is happening at The Winery on Thursday, 21 July. Madame Truffles & The Winery will host Rodney Dunn from The Agrarian Kitchen for a unique truffle event celebrating the launch of Rodney’s new book, The Truffle Cookbook. Enjoy a three-course meal of The dishes from The Truffle Cookbook showcasing the great fresh Australian truffles with matched wines, and chat with Rodney about his book. Signed copies of The Truffle Cookbook will also be available to purchase on the night.

Head to of-the-moment rooftop bar and eatery, The Rook, in Sydney CBD where you can Pimp Your Burger & Fries from 15 June 15 through to 31 July… Think about adding fresh, mouth-watering truffles to your favourite burger of lobster roll.

At Kingsleys Woolloomooloo on Thursday 14 July a truffle-inspired menu holds sway, including Wagyu bresaola, crisp hen’s egg, truffled onion cream (saubise) and baby basil, sea scallop tartare, celeriac cream and truffle, or Truffled brie d’nangis, quince compote with fruit spelt crisps. Limited seats are available for this exclusive event.
Chophouse will host an exclusive Terroir & Truffle Dinner on Tuesday, 5 July. Feast on a four course classic Chophouse menu showcasing truffles – cost is $150pp and limited seats are available. Enjoy Truffle Hour Mon-Fri 4-7 with truffle toasties on the terrace for $6 and Fletcher ‘Minion’ Nebbiolo for $10 glass.
