What to expect with Clear + Brilliant laser resurfacing on your face

If you’re afflicted with blackhead pimples, acne scarring, sunspots, fine lines or just want to hit the reset button on your face for no reason other than you want to look fresh again, then Clear + Brilliant at All Saints Skin Clinic in Double Bay is for you.

Most of us have heard of fraxel laser procedures where you undergo a session of direct-to-face laser resurfacing that shocks your skin’s dermal layers into producing more collagen to plump you up, fill you out and remove all the impurities and imperfections you accumulate over the years; the ‘baby’ version of that is known as Clear + Brilliant is comprises the same concept, but is less intense, less invasive but just as effective in making a marked difference in the way your face looks.

Undergoing any laser treatment on your face can be a daunting prospect, especially if you’ve never done it before, but thankfully, the team at All Saints make it all a breeze. From the moment you walk into the clinic, you’re in safe and sophisticated hands, proving that years of experience in resurfacing the faces of men and women is as simple to undergo as it is worth it.

Clear Brilliant laser

Here’s what to expect…

The procedure takes about an hour-and-a-half, from walking-in to walking-out. And from there, it’s really quite simple.

Before any laser is even pointed at your face, you’re numbed, allowing it to go a little more smoothly for you.

The laser is non-ablative, meaning it doesn’t leave marks or cut you, instead generating a lot of heat and the feeling of hundreds of hot pin-pricks on your face as it runs the length and breadth of your skin.

All this is one in about 20+ minutes, leaving you looking slightly puffy and like you irresponsibly went out into the sun unprotected for too long.

It really does create and define an entirely new category of laser aesthetic treatments, filling a prior unmet need between over-the-counter or spa treatments and more aggressive laser offerings such as fraxel.

How it works is really quite simple:

The laser energy behind Clear+ Brilliant creates millions of microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin, replacing damaged skin with healthy, younger-looking tissue. It is designed to not only improve unwanted signs of ageing, but it also has the power to prevent them.

It comes in two options.

Clear+ Brilliant Original: To help prevent and address early signs of ageing skin and to maintain younger looking skin. The original hand piece is designed to focus on skin texture. skin elasticity, minimising pore appearance and providing longer-term improvements through collagen remodelling.

Clear+ Brilliant Permea: The latest offering – Clear+ Brilliant Permea – is optimised to achieve brighter. more even skin tone and enhanced skin permeability for added benefits of topical skincare products when applied immediately after treatment. The Permea hand piece is designed to produce visibly illuminated skin and even uniform tone.

The result?

It takes around a day or two for the slight puffiness and redness to dissipate. You’ll notice your skin feels dry and gritty, which is normal post-procedure.

Avoid rubbing your face or applying any lotions with active ingredients to allow the skin to heal naturally. The dry feeling will disappear after a few days of careful treatment and as your skin starts and completes shedding naturally.

During this time, you should keep your face 100% protected with a hat and sunscreen of at least SPF 50+ so your skin can heal naturally.

In around three weeks’ time, you’ll notice the full benefits of the Clear + Brilliant treatment, with more plump skin, reduced fine lines and almost non-existent blackhead pimples.

The recommendation is to undergo the treatment a minimum of three times.
