What To Do For New Years Eve 2015

Work’s done, Christmas is done (did you see our last minute gift guides?) and now it’s time for New Years Eve; basically THE excuse of excuses to drink and eat too much (again) and celebrate the end of another no doubt hugely successful year. Congratulations!

But the question still stands… Where to go. Thankfully we have you covered and have compiled some of our most preferred choices of New Years Eve venues and New Years Eve events on hand that you might find exciting enough to drink while away the day at.

BARANGAROO in the heart of Sydney.

Sydneysiders can bring a picnic rug and settle on the Walumil and Stargazer lawns and welcome 2016 with a prime view of the iconic City of Sydney fireworks at 9pm and midnight and enjoy light entertainment, family-friendly alcohol-free zones and licenced areas. Food and beverages can be purchased onsite and ticketholders can either pre-order a gourmet picnic hamper or bring their own picnics. BYO alcohol is not permitted on New Year’s Eve.

Gates open at 6pm and the event is for all ages and entry is strictly by ticket only. Ticket prices are: $14.50 (Child 3-15, Concession); $29.50 (Adult 16+); Family $79 (two adults & two children). A total of 10 tickets can be purchased in one transaction. See more at Moshtix.

New Years Eve at Barangaroo.

Ringside seats to the greatest show on earth are hard to come by, but we’ve saved some great ones and you’re invited. Choose between two performances: a full performance of Puccini’s La Bohème or the entertaining Opera Gala, featuring favourites by Verdi, Puccini, Rossini and more. Then, with a heart full of song, watch the fireworks the whole world watches. Interval is timed for the 9pm fireworks and the Sydney Opera House stays open well past the midnight fireworks. There’s nowhere in the world like Sydney on New Year’s Eve and there’s nowhere closer to the action than Sydney Opera House. Make this your most glamorous and memorable New Year ever.
