Westfield supports Australian Fashion

Westfield, Australia’s largest retail powerhouse has decided it’s high time to proactively support Australian fashion design.

Surrounding the buzz generated annually by this month’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA), Westfield is rolling out the flags for the likes of designers Dion Lee, Romance Was Born and We Are Handsome by way of financial support to the three designers, retail support with bespoke retail spaces and through a designer mentorship program.

By hosting little installations in Westfield centres in Melbourne and Sydney, the designers will be privy to some awesome exposure to the crowds that pass through any given shopping centre on any given day. Lucky them.

The sad thing is though, that it’s only short lived. However for some established designers as these three, it’ll do nothing more than bump-up their already pretty prominent status Australia-wide. Who could complain?

They’ve made some videos to go-with the rollout, too, promoting the collaboration and looking under the skin of what makes the designers want to participate in something like this (helping the interest in their MBFWA appearance).

Good luck to all!
