Where to pay your respects this ANZAC Day
ANZAC Day is one of those times in The Aussie calendar that doesn’t need an explanation, fanfare or monumentally BS religious reason to exist. It’s the best of humanity coming together to pay respects to those who fought for our way of life, which is exactly why you should go to any of these venues around Sydney to do just that.
The Rocks’ iconic pubs, The Australian Heritage Hotel and The Glenmore Hotel team up to create arguably one of the best spots to commemorate ANZAC Day. From 6am, The Australian welcomes veterans, family, and friends with a hearty BBQ breakfast. Cumberland Street becomes the stage for a special performance by The Scots Marching Band and Gloucester Street turns into one of the largest two-up arenas in Sydney. The Glenmore’s rooftop is the perfect spot to end the day with a cold one in hand and overlooking 180 degree views of Sydney harbour.
