Vancouver Fashion Week

Vancouver has its own fashion week. Who knew?

From 19 March to 24 March, the city will come alive with the inherent excitement and hullabaloo that surrounds such events of grandeur and large scale attendance. They’re expecting 20,000 attendees.

Hosted at the somewhat interesting choice of venue, Vancouver’s Chinese Cultural Centre, the festival, will showcase over 55 designers from Canada and around the globe, positioning Vancouver Fashion Week as the second largest fashion week in North America.

In typical fashion week fashion, the festivities wind-up with the Vancouver Fashion Week opening gala to be attended by media, VIPs and the fashion-loving community, all of whom commence the week of showcasing both emerging and established designs.

The VFW will operate a live stream via their website and Facebook pages for those of us unable to venture to Vancouver ourselves. Find it at: www.facebook.com/vanfashionweek

The folks behind Vancouver Fashion Week are committed to fostering a supportive environment for hometown talent by promoting local designers to the international fashion world. By creating the platform that is VFW, they’ve achieved this; especially given the festival this 2013 is the biggest to date.
