UNIQLO opens in Australia

In what has proven to be the busiest and most exciting time for retail in the longest time, living legend of a Japanese brand UNIQLO has set-up shop in Melbourne.

Renowned for their affordable prices, decent quality and huge array of wide and varied basics, in essentially every colour invented, the UNIQLO store is one of Melbourne’s huge array of new inhabitants to Melbourne’s Emporium shopping centre, a massive new development right in the heart of the city.

At their official opening party in Melbourne recently, UNIQLO let loose and allowed the Japanese heritage of the brand speak louder than words. Japanese taiko drums heralded the opening of the store, while a special speech by the Lord Mayor of the City of Melbourne, Cr. Robert Doyle and Mr. Tadashi Yanai, Chairman and CEO of UNIQLO addressed the guests, both international and local present.

A great night had by all for an Asian retailer that Australia is only too happy to receive.
