To have found Hibiki Harmony
It is subtle, refined, and yet complex. These words were used to describe the most sophisticated blend of whisky Japan has to offer.
The Hibiki Japanese Harmony is the new and most famous blend to join the House of Suntory Whisky, and will officially launch in the Australian market.
Suntory Whisky embodies the harmony that exists between Japanese nature and Japanese people. Their whisky displays the art of Japanese distillery and the unique experience of Japanese hospitality.
Suntory was founded by Shinjiro Toriii in 1923, who envisioned a whisky filled with ‘the essence of Japanese nature and hand-crafted by artisans through a patient process of enhancing the work of nature.’ The carefully distilled Hibiki blend simply reflects the Japanese sensibility and respect for nature.
It is no question that Suntory has a profound history in whisky making. Hibiki Japanese Harmony uses the exact malt and grain from the very first Hibiki blend, American White Oak malt, and are enhanced by the rare Mizunara (Japanese oak) and sherry malt whiskies. The distinct tastes in each whisky and oak are pulled and blended together to display a pure and neat taste in Hibiki.
We were joined by Mike Miyamoto, global brand ambassador, who guided us through the whisky taste testing, and teach us the history and background of the Suntory Whisky story.
Filled with whisky, cocktails, magnificent company, and delicious canapés, all behind the beautiful Japanese cultural setting, the night was definitely one to remember. Simmer on the Bay successfully made it feel like a night in Kyoto.
