Located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, 1821 combines all the best things about Greek food with a modern Australian twist, blending the two worlds together perfectly.

The best dishes on the menu really was the traditional Greek dishes like the saganaki covered in a mouthwatering truffle pasta and thyme honey. The lamb manti; an egg pasta dumpling with a manouri cheese puree was an interesting choice, to say the least.

If you prefer something a bit more simple, the BBQ lamb shoulder isn’t something to shy away from. Served with a herbed yoghurt and meat that slide perfectly off the bone, together it was the perfect combination. Simple and full of flavour.

David Tsirekas, Executive Chef of 1821 says, “I have designed this menu with inspiration from my experiences and philosophy taught through the Greek ages. The Odyssey may have begun in Greece, but it has found its home here in 1821.”

The Greek influence remains right to the end with dessert. The apple pie bougasta and patsavoura both were standouts of the desserts menu, leaving you with a sweet taste in your mouth about the menu and 1821.

It’s safe to say, 1821 Greek winter menu taste just like Yiayia’s only better.
