The ‘Men In This Town’ Book Launch

Men In This Town book launch 5

By Henry Ng.

A graphic designer by trade, Men In This Town author Giuseppe Santamaria started his street style journal (of the same name) in 2010 to capture men whose dress sense speaks volumes about who they are.

The book is an extension of the digital journal and focuses on men in London, Tokyo, Sydney, Milan and New York and features five profiles of inspiring men around the world. Using a more casual approach where men are often photographed in their natural habitat and unaware of the camera presence, the every day subjects become a source of inspiration for sartorial savvy men around the world. Santamaria’s eye for details is reflected in his images and gives life to aspects of menswear that could have gone largely unnoticed.

Santamaria teamed up with luxury menswear retailer Harrolds to celebrate the launch of the book. Guests (who were mostly dressed in an array of sombre black, navy or neutral except for Gary Begini) were treated to delectable flavours by Plated and beverages from Glemorangie, Peroni and Santa Vittoria.

The release of Men In This Town repels the idea that print is dead as the foray from digital to old media by Santamaria evinces that there is still a demand for hard-covers. This coffee table book is a great source for first-time photographers as well as the fashion savvy and without a doubt will catapult menswear even further.
