New Years Day Done Right; On Sydney’s ‘The Island’
If there’s one thing Sydney does well, it’s using its precious and beautiful harbour to its full advantage. Public holidays and large-scale events see this bad boy come to life, and there’s no better place to capitalise on the beauty of the city and its harbour views than from Sydney’s famed The Island.
It’s a pontoon of a dance floor, bar, DJ booth and rooftop terrace that – accessible only by boat or private water taxi – makes for one of the city’s most exclusive getaways from the hustle of the centre of town. Privately owned and catered, it attracts Sydney’s social scene to swoon over the views, enjoy the beats and relish in fabulosity. This year’s New Years Day saw everyone descend on The Island thanks to Sofi for the ‘party to end all parties’, and welcome-in the New 2016 Year.
