The Greenwood Hotel, Sydney
Saturday nights in North Sydney are alive once more.
What was once a desolate corporate zone of the Sydney city’s northern reaches has a little glimmer of light back in its braziers again thanks in large part to the work of the Greenwood Hotel, which has introduced weekend trade further to its famed Thursday night drinks.
And though what they do is new, they do it well.
Pizzas and cocktails are the name of their weekend game, bringing simplicity and the brilliance of a decent drink to their relaxed offering.
All designed to share, their kitchen team work at producing honest, easy, tasty food, which when coupled with the top-notch service of the bar staff and the seriously delicious cocktails on their pretty extensive menu of the traditional must-haves and then some, the Greenwood Hotel offers a decent spread.
If you have’t been to the Greenwood Hotel before, it’s a massive establishment, stemming off the grounds of an old school, it’s honed-in around the atmosphere of old settlement Australia with modern day fancies.
Four bars, two (in summer) sun-drenched courtyards and a quality restaurant that pumps out gourmet pizzas on weekends and a decent a la carte menu during the week, the Greenwood Hotel is brilliant for groups and functions, as well as the semi-quiet retreat.
