Brilliant brunch in Hawthorn at Rustica Canteen

In a social media world of #cleaneating and #nocarbdiet, I am still a firm believer that there is no situation that can’t be fixed by a good bit of crusty bread. I also believe that we work better when we have access to brunch and all-day breakfast. Thankfully, our friends at Rustica Canteen provide all of that, with food that not only tastes amazingly but is also beyond Instagram worthy.

Rustica Sourdough in Fitzroy have been fulfilling our need for incredible artisan bread since 2012. Being lead by Brenton Lang, founder and head baker of Rustica, it would only make sense the the expansion of Rustica would be from bakery and cafe to a full-blown canteen in Hawthorn.

Rustica Canteen is the product of three incredibly talented men – Brenton Lang, Tristan White and Matt Vero. Together, their resumes are overly impressive, having worked and founded Melbourne food institutes such as Touchwood, Coin Laundry, Tall Timber and Marquis of Lorne. Originally opening up shop in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, they have recently expanded out to a new location in Hawthorn, giving the foodies of the south-east a new and tasty hang out.

Although Rustica Canteen has a separate menu from the cafe, the canteen still provide delicious breakfast and brunch items, using the best locally sourced produced as well as the delicious artisan breads baked fresh from the Fitzroy bakery.
