The Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick Sydney
Royal Randwick welcomed one of Australia’s biggest days in racing, The Championships Day 2 Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes in all its race day glory and it did not disappoint.
Winx, who was recently named the world’s best turf horse at the Longines World’s Best Racehorse Awards, won the $4 million Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes race.
There was just as much action off the track with Sydney’s most stylish attending the world renowned races, the likes of Jai Courtney, Michelle Payne, Fiona Falkiner, Sandra Sully, Amy Pejkovic and TV personality Anna Heinrich all enjoying the Longines Luncheon, trackside.
Sydney as ever was an exclusive hub for some of the city’s top restaurants which put the smile on even the most passionate of foodies. The teams from Catalina, Victor Churchill and China Doll in Woolloomooloo came together to create the premium dining experience alongside refreshments and cocktails from the Pimms Bar and James Boags Bar.
As usual fashion and style has stakes raised high as they were judged by stylist Claire Fabb and TV presenter James Tobin hosting the annual Fashion Chute finals which saw 32 fashionista finalists from across the Sydney Carnival take to the catwalk. The winner was determined by the fashion forward judging panel including Vogue Australia Editor-in-chief Edwina McCann, Australian designers Alexandra and Genevieve Smart of Ginger & Smart, milliner Nerida winter, founder of Strand Hatters Robert Carroll and Director of Cerrone, Nicola Cerrone.
