Melbourne’s Ovolo Laneways

Celebrating all that is good in Melbourne in terms of design, culture, colour and individualistic expression, the Ovolo Laneways Hotel in Melbourne’s theatre district is one of the city’s most beautiful new additions.

It’s shiny and relatively new, celebrating the Melburnian subcultures, boutiques and creative surrounds while appealing to every – not only – traveller’s, but Australian traveller’s sensitivities when it comes to in-room perks of a luxury hotel.

From the moment you approach the Ovolo Laneways theatrical concierge style entryway, you sense the style and perceive the subtly eccentric sophistication without so much as stepping into the elevator.

The Hong Kong based Ovolo Group brought to Australia its namesake Ovolo Laneways Hotel in collaboration with a leading design firm, Hassell. Their creative direction all the way down to collaborative artistic projects with Melburnian artists in creating bespoke chandeliers for their excitingly new and unique penthouse suite, is testament to the group’s determination to be different and stylish.

The hotel is only five storeys tall, but has impressively managed to work forty-three uniquely designed and tastefully decorated rooms into the space. With Australian art lining the hallways and bold pop-coloured doors to enhance each room’s character and inimitability, the hotel has injected as much life as possible into every element.

Ascending to the top floor, the Ovolo Laneways’ penthouse suite and two terrace suites await, each unique in design, layout and viewing options, but intrinsically tasteful.

Both Penthouse and Terrace Suites include two-bedrooms, en-suite, second bathroom, spacious lounge and dining areas, three flat-screen TVs, state-of-the-art sound systems and private balconies to watch the sunset while enjoying complimentary drinks from the in-suite bar. Known for their signature all-inclusive service concept, all Ovolo Hotel guests receive free daily replenished in-room bar and snacks, breakfast, happy hour in the Lo Lounge, access to a Nintendo Wii and games, Apple TV and Wi-Fi as a complimentary part of their stay.

Not to mention that the hotel sits unassumingly across the road from leading restaurants like Longrain and around the corner from Ginger Boy, the Ovolo Hotel it seems was born to go hand-in-hand with some of the best of what Melbourne has to offer.

“Ovolo Laneways is full of surprises and hidden treasures, just like Melbourne. We worked with HASSELL to capture the city’s rich character and Ovolo Hotels’ heritage through the design of each unique suite,” said Mr Dirk Dalichau, chief operating officer of the Ovolo Group.

A phenomenal location with beautiful design elements, perks that offer a first in most international hospitality standards and uniquely tasteful features in everything on offer, the Ovolo Hotel is an obvious choice.
