Merivale Opens The Paddington
Merivale is back at it, again! Recently opening its latest venue, The Paddington in the suburb by the same name, the new venue is part of a three-venue opening binge the company is in the midst of.
Located in the centre of the historic inner-Sydney strip, The Paddington (formerly The Paddington Arms) will serve a rotisserie-led menu by the brilliant Executive Chef Ben Greeno, impressive cocktails by Palmer and Co.’s Sam Egerton and Toby Marshall and wine curated by the award-winning Franck Moreau and Adrian Filiuta. Needless to say, it’s more than welcome to the area.
“We are extremely excited to open in Paddington, I have very fond memories of what Oxford Street used to be and we are looking forward to bringing some of that magic back to such an iconic part of Sydney. Ben is an undeniable culinary talent, arguably one of the best in the world, and he is going to deliver something truly special at The Paddington,” said Justin Hemmes, the man behind Merivale.
With chefs whose experiences range massively between Asian and Western influences, the spread is sure to be out of control.
The Paddington is a part of a new Merivale expansion at two other Oxford Street properties. Later this year, they will open a chicken shop in the small shopfront next to The Paddington, serving take-away only rotisserie chicken, salads and sandwiches. In early 2016, Merivale will open an exciting new restaurant concept two doors down, led by an alum of Chez Panisse and the Napa Valley’s three-Michelin-starred French Laundry, Danielle Alvarez.
