Men’s Trends: February 2014

Cotton On Co. 2

I had a chat with Craig Webb, designer of the Co. by Cotton On range for men, that aims to stay ahead of the pack in on-trend pieces for men from denim to tees to everything else casual.

Talking on trends for the next couple of months, Craig’s insight into fashion and style is pretty deep-rooted, stemming back to when he was a 19-year-old with a simple ‘light bulb’ moment.

His edgier version of the umbrella Cotton On brand takes-on a more relaxed and fun ‘fashionable’ perspective while focusing on a wearability standard of the clothes that offers a point of difference from the rest of the collections and allows it to stand alone from the core menswear range.

For February, Craig’s looking at five top trends and style tips that he’s replicating through the Co. range:

The Baller Tee – classic hip-hop meets high street fashion.  Sports mesh creates authenticity in a piece that is essential to Sports Luxe look.

Alpha Tee – the devil is in the detail and the detail to look for this season is length. This elongated silhouette is the perfect complement and balance to the drop crotch track pant.

Track Life Trackie – The skinny carrot leg with a drop crotch gives a new, contemporary look to this classic street item. Can be dressed up with a blazer and boots or dressed down with tee and high tops.

Kros-Over Hoody – fine gauge jersey knit pullover with a cross over hood is perfect to throw on as the days start to cool down. Long and lean, this style looks great over spray on jeans or fleece shorts.

Slick Gym Bag – perforated pleather elevates this bag beyond the gym locker-room. A true ‘weekender’ this bag can be taken anywhere and will always standout as a stylish addition to any guys working wardrobe.
