MBFWA Jamie Ashkar

A background in interior design would by anyone’s standards be enough to throw an interesting and geometrically different slant on a change of career into fashion.

For Jamie Ashkar, it did. Influenced by his interior design experience, his gravitational pull toward unconventional construction, fluid lines, clean geometry and prints and textures make for a design collection whose originality and synonimity with the feminine form is wholly complementary.

Launched in 2012, Ashkar has built his core principle around the structure and innovation of his garments, all of which lay testament to the architectural undertone of his work.

Ashkar’s use of fine European fabrics, exotic silks, leathers and newly founded textiles all work hand-in-hand with his own construction techniques and play to his own sense of creativity and individuality.

Ashkar’s Spring Summer 2014 collection was presented at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
