LIFEwithBIRD hits the Fashion Capital

LIFEwithBIRD is a women’s fashion label that has rapidly made its presence in Melbourne known, but also, made itself a massive hit with regular gals and the social scenes alike.

Having relatively recently made their debut in Melbourne’s Fashion Capital (Chadstone), the brand is reaching higher and higher up the chain of retail royalty, bringing their uniquely stylish and effortlessly chic stylings to the everywoman.

They’re now ticking over six stores as stand-alones, which is admittedly a big and tough enough feat in itself, says LIFEwithBIRD’s co-director Nicholas Van Messner. His partner Bridget McCall, the BIRD in the relationship, have been quite lucky, he says, to have found each other and be able to share in their little journey together.

“It’s a tough road, but having your partner, wife and muse along for the ride, makes it pretty awesome… Can’t complain,” he said.

LIFEwithBIRD is a constantly growing and evolving beast and so the brand’s creed is that change has to be embraced. That’s why LWB found itself staring down the most readily available vacant space in the shopping mecca of Chadstone. With each new challenge, said Nick, comes moving on and learning, which keeps the job interesting; no doubt plentiful with the new boutique in one of the country’s biggest shopping centres.

LWB has taken-on their newest addition with nothing but a whole bunch of ease and the seamlessness of true retail professionals, bringing-together the store in a stressful flurry of a frenzy and quick fit-out. Nick and Bridget have been fortunate to have a supportive team of office and sales staff, bubbling the store along in one of the busiest times of the year: Christmas.

There are no plans to stop at six though as Nick explained that while it’s only a pipe dream, LIFEwithBIRD would love an international store one of these days. “The world is getting smaller, so let’s get out there!”
