What’s on offer? Well, think Melbourne market stall favourites such as Nem and Nem, Hoy Pinoy, and Mr. Miyagi. This year, markets from interstate will bring some of their freshest flavours to the table – such as Sydney’s Spanthai and Canberra’s Donburi Station.

Melting pot of culture is what comes to mind as your taste buds will thank you for the fusion of Asian cuisines on offer in possibly one of the most vibrant, open-air experiences of the year.

Some of the not-to-be-missed dishes from just some of the amazing stalls include: Twistto – ‘Original Korean Twist Potato’, fresh potato, hand cut into a tornado shape, twisted on a stick, deep, fried and finished with various seasonings; Taiwan Noodle House – Taiwanese hand-pulled noodles topped with five spice beef broth, 16 hour cooked brisket, sui yuk crispy roast pork belly, charsiu roast pork and steamed Chinese vegetables; and The Wagyu – Japanese BBQ beef and yogurt wrapped in a cone, served on a rice base with spinach, lettuce and purple onion.

Immerse yourself in the exotic Asian flavours wafting through the air as you explore the markets, with beautiful Melbourne city lighting up at night as you eat. Don’t forget to swing by – pun intended – the Mercedes-Benz site which has a very Instagram worthy set of swings with a backdrop of flowers. You can even win prizes, so this is a must.

Let your senses also guide you through to the various delectable desserts on offer. The stand-out is Black Star Pastry, coming back to Melbourne this year to rival its out-of-this-world strawberry/watermelon cake.

For all the chocolate-lovers, Death by Chocolate Parfait is Black Star’s new rave, which is a chocolate-soaked cake topped with Oreos, cookies and cream gelato, whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa. Gelato Messina is also back with gorgeous Asian-inspired treats such as a Japanese-inspired black sesame gelato with banana miso bread, and the O-Not-Giri, which is a rice-ball shaped dessert with green tea gelato, rice bubbles and white chocolate. Mouth-watering.

The spice and smoke will be matched by entertainment, celebrity guest appearances, live DJs and music, with a host of interactive spaces to complete the experience. Brand’s Laira will bring the Coonawarra region to the city with a pop-up Cellar Door. They have also developed a food and wine pairing cheat sheet to help navigate the delectable Asian cuisine with the right glass of wine in hand – with recommendations including Hoy Pinoy’s famous adobo sauce with Brand’s Laira Cabernet Sauvignon or Black Star Pastry Watermelon Strawberry Cake with a glass of Brand’s Laira Old Station Rosé.
