LC: Men – J.W. Anderson

Gender-blurring aficionado J.W. Anderson took to the runway for this season’s London Collections: Men in a blaze of effeminate fashion that left even the most unsold of fashion enthusiasts with a smile.

The collection’s aesthetic created a buzz stemming from the experimental nature of the designer’s work, playing on female sensibilities in a world of masculinity. Cropped black trousers and collared blouses painted one picture, conversely bucked by the likes of boxed draping and enough pleats to give anyone motion nausea.

Tops with the sheen of satin and slim-cut shirts with padded shoulders worked as the stage for punctuations the collection through, such as chunky stacked bangles and wooden clutches, coupled with platformed obtuse angled loafers akin to the gentile clogs of the geisha.
